  4. Blaufränkisch Edelgrund

Blaufränkisch is the native Austrian grape with the most potential concentration and complexity.  This particular wine comes from the oldest plot in the Achs family holdings, within the former pastureland between Gols and the Lake Neusiedl.

Tasting Notes

Rudy-red in color with purple highlights and a broad transparent rim. Aromas of blackberries, plums, and tobacco leaves with undertones of orange zest. On the palate the wine has flavors of fresh ripe black cherry fruit with salty minerals that remain on the long finish. It has great finesse and balance with ripe tannins in a very elegant style.

Food Pairing

Well paired with red meats, and can work well with dishes that have some spice.
