Lois (rhymes with choice) is named after the village of Langenlois where Fred Loimer’s winery is located. The wine is produced from contracted growers who are in conversion to organic viticulture. Lois is intended as a high-quality “regional” expression of Grüner Veltliner and wears the Kamptal DAC appellation on its label. A wine that delivers pleasure above all else.

Wine Production

Selective harvest by hand in 20 kg crates in September. Partial cold soak up to four hours. Fermentation with cultured yeast in stainless steel tanks, 2-4 weeks, then further aging in steel on fine lees for four months.  Bottled January 2017.

Tasting Notes

Pale yellow color, this wine is purely aromatic and lively! Lovely aromas of fresh apples and citrus, this wine surprises on the palate with great spice components as well as exotic fruit and a refreshing acidity.

Food Pairing

To be enjoyed either on its own, as an apértif or with light dishes, crisp salads, vegetable dishes, seafood, Wiener Schnitzel, light fried foods such as tempura, Asian flavors.
