Pannobile 2015

Heinrich

Pannobile, a portmanteau of Pannonian and nobility, is an eleven member association of top growers in Neusiedlersee. The group formed in 1994 to draw attention to the typicity and quality of the region’s wines. Each member producers a unique Pannobile wine every vintage using only indigenous grape varietals. Importantly, they are judged by each other before earning the Pannobile name.

This Pannobile derives from the winery's top sites. It is aimed to express the best of what the Pannonian region offers. Structure combined with elegance and authenticity. Harvested by hand in September, a careful selection on the sorting belt followed. The wine was processed according to the gravity flow principle and naturally fermented in steel tanks as well as wooden barrels. This blend was aged for 20 months in French barriques.

Tasting Notes

Dark ruby-garnet color with a violet reflection. The aroma gives scents of intense dark berry confit, with some licorice, soft citrus zest and tobacco nuances with a hint of minerality. The palate exudes juicy dark berries and has a lovely complexity and fine acidity. Very good length with fine cherry fruit in the finish. Well integrated tannins. An ideal, harmonious food companion.

Food Pairing

Pair with spicy Pad Thai , lamb kabobs and grilled meats.
