Tilia is named after the tree commonly found in Argentina’s wine country. For years, vineyard workers have used the flowers of the Tilia to make an herbal tea for enjoyment after a hard day’s work. The name Tilia was chosen in honor of this Argentinean tradition.  Tilia wines are made at Bodegas Esmeralda, a Catena family winery in the Eastern region of Mendoza. Tilia wines are sustainably farmed. Made by renowned Catena winemaker, Alejandro Viggiani, Tilia wines possess true varietal character and flavor complexity.

Tasting Notes

Deep violet color, nose of ripe red fruit, cranberries, cherries, vanilla. This is an elegant and structured wine with plush dark fruit flavors, some minerality, and integrated tannins with a long finish.  It is a medium to fullbodied wine with excellent balance.

Food Pairing

Beef, Lamb, Spicy food, cheeses , charcuterie and grilled sausages all pair beautifully with this rich and elegant wine.
