This 100% Pinot Noir wine comes from our own vineyards located in the recently discovered Leyda Valley, 12 km from the Pacific Ocean.

Its closeness to the sea makes it a unique spot for viticulture. The cool conditions during spring and summer due to maritime influence and summer breezes make it an extraordinary area for the development of Burgundian varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Pinot´s vineyards were planted in 1998 and 2004 with massal selection, clone 777, 115, 16 and 9 in different blocks with different exposures (north, west and south), as Leyda Valley has rolling hills  topography. The viticultural management is oriented in order to get controlled yield production,  7 to 8 ton/há for this Reserva Pinot and ensuring cluster´s protections from direct sunlight to keep fruit intensity and freshness of flavors.

Wine Production

The grapes were hand harvested in different picking moments in 500 kg bins: from March 10 th to April 1st at 23,5-24.5°B. In the cellar the clusters were destemmed, softly crushed and then received in stainless steel tank. Cold maceration was made at 8-10°C during 4 days following with the  alcoholic fermentation at 26-28°C for 10 days. After dryness the wine was immediately racked off from the skins into stainless steel tank. 90% of the wine made malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tank and 20% in french oak barrels. The wine aged for 6 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

Expressive and fruit driven, cold climate style of  Pinot Noir, with red acid fruit together with spiciness and floral notes. Its strong expression makes it a good exponent of a maritime valley.

In mouth it is fruity, juicy and fresh, with good acidity that enlarges the palate. The tannins are soft, sweet and rounded..

Food Pairing

Perfect with Grilled vegetables, chicken, turkey or baked fish.
