The 40th Anniversary Cuvee celebrates the first commercial release of the Juvé Family private cava, "Reserva de la Família" into the market. In 1977 guests at family functions encouraged Mr Juvé to launch this Brut Nature cava to the market, and now it is the most iconic cava of its kind. Today it is the flagship wine of the estate and it expresses the family's philosophy of extended aging on the lees and high quality, hand-harvested and hand-riddled cava.

About the Vineyard

Consists of five estates located in different regions inside the Penedés Valley, each one of them with uniqueness in terms of soil composition, texture, altitude - ranging between 120 and 650 meters above sea level. High calcareous content in Espiells and Can Rius Estates, with shallow loamy soils, low in organic matter. La Cuscona Estate is located in the Penedés valley and offers rich and deep clayish sedimentary soils, with a marked influence of the Mediterranean winds. Up in mountains we grow our old Parellada vines in Can Massana.  Mas Pagés Estates is planted on rocky and clay textured soils, where the mild temperatures favor a slow maturation of the grapes (helps to preserve the natural acidity of this sensitive cultivar)

Wine Production

Direct crushing of the grapes and separation of the free run must inside of the press. Stems are not separated in order to facilitate drainage of the liquid avoiding the use of the press fractions (harsh and green character). Cold settling at 16ºC for 24 hours, then the clean must is racked and fermentation begins in inox steel. Temperature of fermentation ranges between 16 and 18ºC, looking to reveal the primary aromatic compounds of the different cultivars. Wines undergo malolactic fermentation, but are not fined.

Tasting Notes

Pale gold in color, this Cava has aromas of ripe white peaches, toasted baguette with hints of lemon citrus and apricots. The palate is rich and broad with flavors of green apple, jasmine green tea and toasted almonds.

Food Pairing

This brut nature cava is extremely versatile because no dosage added, so the acidity and bubbles clean your palate after each bite. Recommended dishes: garlic shrimp, miso-marinated sea bass, sesame encrusted tuna, chicken tikka masala and Jamon Iberico.
