Furmint 2011

Dobogó

Harvested from low yielding 30 year old vineyards in the cru sites of Szent Tamás and Betsek in Mád. Furmint was partially fermented in 3 year old 500L oak casks to ensure body, texture and creaminess were fully developed, and partially in stainless steel to make sure the fresh aromas and fruitiness were kept intact. The wine was then aged for eleven months and bottle aged for four months before its release.

Tasting Notes

Light golden yellow in color. This big bodied wine has discreet hints of vanilla with pear, orange, peach, lime and oak on the nose. The flinty and mineral notes are a reminder of the volcanic character of the Tokaj terroir. The palate has a vivid and round acidity, and a full, creamy texture.

Food Pairing

This wine pairs exeptionally well with ceviche and other fish dishes.
