Argiolas is the foremost wine estate on the island of Sardinia producing archetypal wines from native varietals. The winery was founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas and was the first on the island to pursue quality over quantity. Today, the Argiolas family is recognized as Sardinia’s leading producer of wine.

Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean and lies roughly 190 miles west of Italy's mainland. The vineyards of Argiolas are located in Serdiana in the Trexenta hills just north of the capital of Cagliari. Argiolas farms 600 acres of native Sardinian grapes including Nuragus, Monica, and Cannonau.

The Argiolas family created the Iselis project to connect their winery to different charities around the world. Recently, Iselis funded the construction of medical centers in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Iselis Bianco is made from 100% Nasco and aged in stainless-steel tanks and barrels.

Tasting Notes

The name Nasco comes from musk (nuscu in Sardinian dialect) and the wine is very aromatic with aromas of flower blossoms, muskmelon, and tropical fruit. The palate is exotic and rich due to a small percentage of barrel aging, yet it still retains fresh due to Nasco’s high acidity

Food Pairing

Nasco calls for an assertive dish like a highly fragrant seafood stew such as zuppa di fregola pesce or pasta served with shaved bottarga. Sardines, anchovies, or grilled dark fish make for additional pairings. Iselis Bianco can also be paired with a matured sheep’s milk cheese like Pecorino Sardo.
